Welcome to our Creator spotlight!
Continuing our series of Space Engineers Creator Spotlights with Commodore Keras.
“My entry into Space Engineers occurred in 2016 after one of my friends introduced me to it, this was during a time where I played a lot of Scrap Mechanic and so the engineering side of the game did beckon my interest but I was a bit off and on with the game at the time.
However, it was not until around November 2017 when I truly fell in love with the game, you see, I began searching the community in search of Star Wars content or groups, and by some stroke of luck I stumbled onto a group that I am still lucky to be friends with today, and I have to mention my good friends and fellow SE creators “Starprime”, “Zalex” and “Orangep9” for this group is a major reason that my passion for the game flourished.
This group was in fact more Star Trek inspired as I’d come to learn but that did not matter as the fantastic community around me allowed me to expand and grow my abilities slowly but surely whilst also racking up a ton of time.
Later on, through this group I got to meet “HDLiggett” and “ZEO CMF” which was around the time they were working on their early Star Trek builds. Alongside them and a whole list of other people I could go on listing for ages, who helped me learn more about different building techniques and approaches which have over time led me to where I stand today.
I have taken a variety of influences over time in Space Engineers, with my most popular ones being my Star Trek creations, however, I am working to expand my creations to beyond with franchises like Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica and possibly even a custom faction that I’m working but those are all spoilers for some potential upcoming projects I have.
I also must say a special thanks to the “SE Starfleet” and “OASIS” communities as a whole as they have been great to work and create with. I think the community is one of the best parts of Space Engineers as it truly allows the game to flourish whilst being extremely welcoming to any new members.“
Chopin II Deep Space StationProbably my most demanding project yet, took a couple months of on and off work to fully come together but it’s one that I’m immensely proud of and glad to have finished. Whilst it is part of a larger space station building project I’ve been working on – it is definitely my favourite from it. |

Cardassian Galor class CruiserThe Galor was part of me trying to take a different approach to building than I usually do. I experimented a bit with a more customisable experience for the user by making it internally simpler to modify. |
|
Cardassian Norin DestroyerSimilar to the Galor but a design that I loved bringing into the game. |
|
Type-14 Shuttlecraft GorkonThe Type-14 is probably currently the culmination of everything I’ve learned whilst building small grids. I’m especially happy with how it turned out due to its survivability and surprising passenger carrying capacity. |
|
Type-4 Shuttlecraft GalileoI think the type-4 deserves a mention as it was the shuttlecraft that started my fascination with small grid building along with being a personal favourite of mine. |
