Welcome to our Creator spotlight!
Continuing our series of Space Engineers Creator Spotlights with Halipatsui.
“Hi! My name is Halipatsui, I have been scratching my engineering itch in Space Engineers since summer of 2016 (gosh it’s been a long time). I was initially introduced to the game by a friend of mine and I ended up rather quickly acquiring it. After seeing creators like bruceLeedleLeedleLeedleLeedleLeedle, spetsialista and eXtro i quickly realized i have found a game where i can build my own metal gear and do whatever i want with it.
It took me around a month to get my first walker to take its baby steps (using a 30 timer walk cycle D:). The loading screen that says “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” bears great wisdom, managing complexity like that was painful. After that most of my Space Engineers “career” has been defined by pushing the limits of walkers further, making them faster, more agile, simpler and last but not least. More dangerous. There is a fairly solid chance that I hold the current thrusterless walker speed record at 100 m/s vanilla and 243 m/s modded).
Some years ago I mostly built large, 100+ meter melee fighter mechs that saw some action on Xocliws streams and have been gradually upgrading them into better and easier to use customizable platforms. These days I’m mostly working on mech’s ability to cross terrain and finding ways to misuse AI blocks to force them into piloting mechs (repurposing things to do stuff they were not meant to do is a great way to improve building skills btw). Making modular encounters systems compatible mechs that hunt players on survival has especially been fun.
I also have liked other complex builds like making automated rover drones and survival printable subgrid builds that assemble themselves automatically(including mechs of course). My most usual “product” is a youtube video of some random unfinished mech skeleton doing disturbing things.
Doing highly physics dependent builds like mechs has really shown how much Space Engineers has advanced along the years not only by game as a whole, but physics simulation quality has also greatly increased along the years.
To this day I don’t think I have seen a game with a better combination of building mechanics and level of destruction as Space Engineers has. It especially stands out as you see big mechs gutting each other or ripping each other’s limbs off.”

Viltrumite Modular EncounterMy old viltrumite battlemech turned into a modular encounter For a mech without thrusters it has extreme terrain mobility and speed. Have fun getting hunted by it. |

Advanced WSAD Mech Survival EditionIdea behind this chassis is that it would be customized by each user according to their preferences. When you assemble the mech make sure it is perfectly straight and attached to a station. |
